Dear Parents,
Welcome to Aquarelle Kids Academy! I am very excited to be given the opportunity to be the director of this wonderful new preschool. I come to you with twelve years experience owning and directing preschools in the Orlando area. More recently I was the director of a faith based preschool. For the past six months, I have been honored to be a consultant with Building Bridges Consulting Company where I taught child development classes to caregivers. I also guided several schools through their accreditation process. One of my goals is to have Aquarelle Kids Academy nationally accredited in 2009. I was brought up in the very beautiful west coast of Scotland where I met Alan, my husband of 33 years. You will also get to know our two daughters, Heather and Jenny, who are students at the University of Florida.
I am coming to you not only with the desire to be with your children but also to work as a team with our teachers and parents. We all have the common goal to ensure the safety of the children and to give them a solid educational foundation to build on when they enter elementary school. Through carefully planned activities, based on our curriculum, we can respond to children’s individual needs. I want you to feel part of your child’s education. We will do this through continuous open communication and sharing ideas so that we get a total understanding of how each child learns.
I am looking forward to getting acquainted with you. Please do not hesitate at any time to come to me with questions, concerns, and comments you might have. We have so much to offer this community. We can reach out and invite every family in the area to enroll their children in Aquarelle Kids Academy!

Lisbel Rodriguez
I was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico . My family moved to New York when I was thirteen, and we have lived in Florida for the past six years. I have four children and two grandchildren.
I was very excited when I heard that a new child care center was coming to our neighborhood, but never thought I would be part of it. Aquarelle Kids Academy gave me the opportunity to work for them and I feel I am growing and gaining experience in the child care industry.
I have achieved my CPR and EPI Pen certifications, and I'm currently working on my CDA certification. Working with your children has given me the incentive to continue my education in the Early Childhood field.

Katrice Pendergraph
My name is Katrice Pendergraph and I have been married for four years, have a beautiful daughter who is two years and pregnant with our second child. My education qualifications include a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education, VPK instructor certificate and numerous other training certificates in the field. I am presently taking classes to obtain a Director’s Credential certificate. I am excited to partner with you in your child’s education. I will work with each one to meet their individual needs to give them a strong foundation for their continued education.

Belkis Henriquez
I arrived in Florida from the Dominican Republic in 1985. My husband and I have three sons and one grandson.
I completed my studies in Early Childhood Education in New York City , earning an Associates Degree. I took some credits in Special Education, but my major is in Education. I am also qualified to be a VPK teacher. I am bi-lingual, fluent in both English and Spanish.
I taught for twelve years in New York City , gaining experience working with pre-school, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and school-age children.
I have achieved CPR and EPI Pen certifications and completed a training course on Child Abuse and Neglect.
I plan to continue my education, to improve my knowledge and to be able to offer the best possible learning environment for all of our children.
I am looking forward to getting to know all the families during the school year.

Carla Douglas
I am Carla Douglas and have been employed at Aquarelle Kids Academy since September 2008. Our family moved to Florida eighteen months ago from Three Rivers, Michigan. I have been married to Rob for twelve years and have three children we are proud of, Tammara, Crystal and Travis. My qualifications include 45 hours of training required by DCF. I am consistent about taking other classes and workshops in Early Childhood to enhance my education. My position at the school is to teach the morning and afternoon extended VPK students. I confer with the VPK teachers about the student’s individual goals and prepare my lesson plans around these goals. I find my work extremely rewarding.

Anabella Youngs
My name is Anabella Youngs and I was born in Buenos Aires , Argentina . I have a daughter and her name is Julia. My family and I lived in Argentina and I went to school there. After high school I studied Early Childhood Education for 3 years. I've been here now for 4 years. As soon as I came, I got a position at Disney's Chef's Mickey's Kitchen and then moved to a bakery. I liked my job but I wasn't satisfied. I wanted to work with children. Working with children has always been my number 1 priority and it's something I love to do. I have accepted a position at Aquarelle Kids Academy and I'm very happy and lucky to have the honor to teach your children new things every day.

Mary Ann Antmann
Hello, my name is Mary Ann Antmann. I am married and have four wonderful children and five beautiful grand- daughters. I have been teaching for 17 years and during that time obtained a CDA, an Associates Degree and a Director’s Credential. I have also taken numerous early education classes and workshops. I really love teaching the children in Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten. I especially enjoy communicating with you on a daily basis about your child’s progress.

Susan Garcia
Hello, my name is Susan Garcia. My qualifications consist of the 45 hours of training required by DCF and numerous classes including the VPK Standards class. I enjoy assisting Mary Ann in the VPK class where we spend a lot of time observing the children to individualize our program which benefits each child. We want the children to have fun while learning and preparing for kindergarten. In the evenings I look forward to going home to my husband, two step-daughters and my six year old son.

My name is Lisandra Negron and I’m very happy to be hired recently at Aquarelle Kids Academy. My four year old daughter, Nayara, is enrolled in the VPK program. I have always enjoyed working with young children and look forward to getting to know each child enrolled as I guide them in their education.
